With life coach training, a PhD in psychology, and over 20 years working with both men and women, I now specialize in working with people who are wanting to show up differently in their relationships, who are facing major life transitions and/or are in recovery. I help clients to achieve clarity, maximize their strengths, and reach their goals with practical and effective strategies.
In the past, I've worked as a psychotherapist, an educator, and a community organizer. I've conducted groups and workshops in addition to individual sessions to help people achieve positive change. These diverse activities have given me a well-honed professional skill set, which enables me to rapidly get to what is important – to quickly understand the whole person in his or her complexity as well as the system(s) in which the person operates. I possess a wide and deep knowledge base and a range of tools to address such things as problem solving, communication, action planning, prioritizing, life/work balance, relationship issues, meditation, relaxation, conflict management, transitions, stress management, and living in recovery from addiction to alcohol and/or drugs.
My credentials include:
· BSFS (Bachelor of Science in the Foreign Service) from Georgetown University
· MS and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
· Validated as a Whole Person Certified Coach (WPCC) by Baraka Institute/Coach Training World.
